Right to Practice Full-Scope Optometry in Jeapordy;
MOA Organizing Meetings Statewide to Plan Defense

Issues have arisen in the Maryland General Assembly that could limit our ability to practice full-scope optometry. The Maryland Optometric Association (MOA) is calling upon all practicing OD's to address this serious situation. It is imperative as health care professionals that we provide the best possible service to our patients.

In response, the MOA has put together a number of dinner meetings to be held around the state. We will be discussing goals for this year's legislative session and what everyone must do to reach these goals.

We are urging all optometrists to recognize this as a priority and attend. You do not have to be a member of the MOA. The MOA will subsidize the meetings, supplying dinner and one hour of continuing education credit at a rate of only $10 per person for all but Greater Baltimore. If you choose to attend the Greater Baltimore meeting, being held in conjunction with a current CE program, there will be no additional charge. Space is limited and registrations will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

Once again we ask you to join us on one of these evenings to gather together to defend our rights as health care practitioners.

To register for the meeting, click here, print out the form, fill it out and fax or mail it to MOA Headquarters. The $10 will be collected at the door.
