BALTIMORE — As it celebrated the best in Maryland Optometry during the MOA 2003 Awards Dinner, the Association also inaugurated Dr. Michael Sless, an optometrist in private practice in Monkton, as its president. He succeeds Dr. Jeffrey Poland of Cumberland.

In addition to Dr. Sless, MOA members also elected Dr. Elizabeth McGinn of Severna Park as president-elect.

Elected as 1st vice president and 2nd vice president were Dr. Thomas Wong of Kensington and Dr. Robert Schwartz, Jr., of Glen Burnie, respectively. Dr. Robert Stutman of Pikesville was inaugurated as Secretary. Dr. Christine King continues to serve on the Board as treasurer.

Left to right, the Executive Committee of the MOA Board is comprised of Dr. Christine King, Dr. Michael Sless, Dr. Elizabeth McGinn, Dr. Thomas Wong, Dr. Robert Schwartz, and Dr. Robert Stutman.

Also continuing to serve on MOA’s Board are the following presidents of the local optometric societies: Dr. Jo Anne Brilliant of the Anne Arundel County Optometric Society; Dr. John Burns of the Central Maryland Optometric Society; Dr. Gerald Frishman of the Frederick County Optometric Society; Dr. Jeffrey Poland of the Western Maryland Optometric Society; Dr. Lori Sportelli of the Greater Baltimore Optometric Society; Dr. James Nickol of the Eastern Shore Optometric Society; and Dr. Jeffrey Wassell of the North East Maryland Optometric Society.
